ACER Education
At Metrocare, we serve our neighbors with developmental or mental health challenges by helping them find meaningful and satisfying lives. Metrocare’s Altshuler Center for Education and Research (ACER) supports our counselors and qualified mental health professionals with continuing education opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills, and techniques that support our mission of providing quality care to those we serve. ACER collaborates with the DFW community to help our clients holistically, so training is available to counselors outside Metrocare.
In 2022, Metrocare’s Altshuler Center for Education and Research (ACER) began plans to reinvigorate the program with a solid clinical training agenda to enhance learning and performance for the internal workforce and community.
The ACER Education Office offers live professional development opportunities for Clinical Mental Health Professionals led by Licensed Professional Counselors and Clinical Social Workers at Metrocare Offices and Institutions and Organizations across Dallas County. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for their attendance. See our list of upcoming events below.
